A bit early.  Sue me.

Wander over and wish him a happy birthday Oct. 19 :)

Help? :)

  • Jul. 16th, 2009 at 7:56 AM

I'm trying to find out what my POP3 server is, as I am setting up a Windows Live Mail account.  I'm running Windows XP.   Is this enough info for the tech types out there to help me set it up?  I wish there was a "right click here" for finding out EVERYTHING (POP3 servers, etc).  I need to send a letter/form to someone, and setting up Windows Live Mail and having an account is the only option.

Any further questions that need to be asked, ask away so I can help you help me :)

Am I Bad If...

I don't mourn, languish, or deeply grieve over the loss of Michael Jackson?
I'm not a cold-hearted lout, and he was a good entertainer.  It just seems so oversationalized already.

Belonging

  • Jun. 25th, 2009 at 7:33 AM

I'm not physically ill that I know of other than my disability, but I've decided lately that I've achieved some sort of peace in my life where (though I'm not planning on going anywhere anytime soon) I'd be able to handle knowing I was going to pass on.

All that said, does anyone feel a huge struggle to, if not "fit in", just feel as if you don't belong anywhere specifically?  I guess those two may mean one in the same, but...I know I'd never try to become something I'm not, but do you ever feel at times as if you don't belong even in the groups of friends you do have?

Just wondering stuff lately, I guess.

Naked

If I

Could strip you naked

I'd see all the things

That you don't

And some you'd wonder

How anyone

Could see them

At all

It wouldn't be

About size,

Girth,

Or mass

If I

Stripped you

Naked

I'd see

Only the insides.

The mind,

Soul,

And heart

The most vibrant soul,

Brilliant mind,

And biggest heart

Ever

I like what I've seen

Underenath it all

I love it when

You let me see

You.

Naked.

It's never about a guy's certain parts for me (and maybe it's not for anybody anyway), but I like it when a guy shows me his insides as well as outside stuff.  *shrug*

Still here...

  • May. 29th, 2009 at 8:01 AM

I'm still here and alive and whatnot :)  I just never know what to post.  I want to thank soxpup, pup_ajax, that_grr, blithwulf and his husbear (whose LJ name escapes me right now), and tim_e_bear in particular before I proceed.  I know that LiveJournal is not all about fetishes, naughty bits, etc, but I've got to ask...Does anyone have any fetishes (like I do) that are "seasonal" where, even though you can see what you like in magazines at any time, you just about can't wait until you can see what you like on a person who's right in front of you and you don't have to wait for the season to come around and look in catalogs?

*sigh*  I'm on the way to work, and this went better written in my head first, but hopefully some who read this know where I'm goin'/What I mean?

Thanks for your friendships...all of you guys!

How Do I...?/What's Up Widdat?

  • Feb. 19th, 2009 at 7:55 AM

I've checked all my friends whose journals I want to read, and we are mutual friends. so that's okay there, but my question is: I get some updates in my E-mail when some have updated their journals, and some people I do not get updates for (hitchbear, for example...I missed a post you made which...though I found it and read it, I've yet to make a post/reply)

Love you guys, and more posts (well more just one post for sure sharing a thought) to come.

Prayers For Everybody

  • Feb. 10th, 2009 at 7:36 PM

OK, I'm not one to pray, really, but the title fit my post's "theme".  I watched the movie "Prayers For Bobby" on Lifetime about three weeks ago or so, and I was amazed.

I'd thought that it was going to be just another movie where the mother of a child who is gay just doesn't "get it", but I found out that4 it's so much more.

Bobby is a boy in high school who knows in his heart that he's gay, and he goes through all the motions to appear straight while knowing inside all along he's living a lie.  The "catch"?  He's from a severely religious family, and to come out as gay would be "bad".  Sorry for the shortcutting and bobbing and weavign here in the story, but he comes out to his brother first, and his brother says he'll keep the secret, but he ends up their mom "What would you do if you found out one of your sons was gay?"  She's mortified and doesn't believe that one of her sons is gay and comes to use the phrase "what you've become" when talking to her son, and he says "What I am."

Bobby ends up killing himself because he can't handle the stress of all his family's disapproval and being disowned.  Little does the mom know that...even though counseling didn't work, he went to church where he is accepted, because (as it turns out) the minister is gay, as are some of the congregation.

The mother blames herself for Bobby's death and wonders if Bobby and God will forgive her, and she becomes an advocate for gay rights and speaks to groups, etc.

Sorry for the messily told story, but here's my point.  Prop 8: I wanted to do a video post, but no webcam, so no go there.  I've got people in my life who don't get that I'm gay and why...Doesn't matter.  I just know that I am.  What I wish more people understood is that people aren't asking for much...Just that their right to live their lives as a couple be understood, recognized, and honored, and that the same rights afforded to straight couples be upheld.

"If that's done, then what will they want next?  Pedophilia legal?  Bestiality?" is one thought a friend of mine had.  I know that folks aren't asking for THAT.  It's not like their asking to live like it's Babylon and all is free game.  *sigh*

I over-vented.  I want to thank folks here who help me to see, be, and love who I am more and more each day (you know who you all are, I hope, but if you don't...ask)

Getting High...Marks

  • Feb. 5th, 2009 at 7:49 AM

I work at a hospital switchboard, as some of you may know.  Well, I had my job performance evaluation last Friday, and we are either graded as "Low", "Medium", or "High" based on how well we do with providing service to the hospital and its needs.

I got evaluated as "High", and my supervisor said to me that I provide him with all the information he needs "in a timely and efficient manner.  You've always got the infomation I want when I want it.  Thank you for all your excellent service help."

I got a warm feeling in my heart that I haven't had for awhile, and based on that alone, I believe it will stick with me for awhile :)

Food Drive '08

  • Nov. 20th, 2008 at 9:20 PM

I work at a Catholic hospital, and  every year they have a food drive to donate to a the needy for Thanksgiving.  Every year my department loses based pretty much on the fact hardly anyone donates, but this year we've got food galore basically.  We've got four shopping bags full of canned food, a cardboard box with food up to the top.  I know it's not about winning and that it's about giving, but it'd be nice if an "underdog" type department like ours won.

Oh...there's the contest element too, see.  The boxes of food are weighed, and the highest three wights win a prize, and things are judged in respect too to the department's size.  Some floors have fifteen to twenty nurses, but the transport or volunteer departments only have five to ten.  Switchboard has nine people in it.  And there's also money that can be donated along with (or instead of) food.

From what I understood from the flyer, food is measured in (duh) pounds, BUT...for every fourteen cents donanted, it counts as a pound, so if someone donates a dollar, it's like seven pounds of food ($1.00 divided by $.14 = 7, if my math is right.)

Switchboard has $350.00 cash in the drive plus the food, so I think we're well on the way to a victory, and I do know and believe that the victory is in giving more than the prize, but I feel we're so disrespected that...*sigh*...it's nice if you can get even "mini-props" for something.  I did the math out, and the $350 gives our department 2500 points.  The contest ends November 24.

I babbled.  Oops.  Hope you all are well, and thanks for reading :)

I put livejournal on my blocked senders list, but I wasn't aware I'd done it, but now I'm back.  :)  There's a lot I want to say, but I can't put it all into words the way I'd like, but I do know how to say this: I love and have missed all of you.
